Ports Configuration

Where: Panel › Ports Configuration · Serial menu 4

The speed of the two serial links of the GNSS module in the MS2net reference station: towards the LoRa radio, and the internal one to the station's processor.

Settings

Field What it does Values Factory Serial
LoRa Radio Baud Rate Port wired to the LoRa radio: a base sends its RTCM corrections through it, a rover receives them. 4800 to 921600 bit/s (serial: 0 switches the port off) 57600 4 → 1
GNSS Serial Baud Rate Internal link carrying everything the module outputs: positions, messages, corrections. It is also the speed of the SER port (RS-232) on the rear. 4800 to 921600 bit/s 230400 shown in 4, not settable
GNSS UART2 UBX Protocol In Serial menu only. Would let the radio port also accept configuration commands for the module, besides RTCM. The station closes that input every time it configures the module, so that nobody transmitting on the radio band can change it, and the page does not show the setting. Enabled, Disabled Disabled 4 → 3

The speeds on the list are 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, 115200, 230400, 460800 and 921600 bit/s. The serial menu sends the LoRa speed to the module at once.

LoRa Radio Baud Rate must equal the speed the radio module is set to: otherwise the bytes arrive garbled and a rover simply never reaches RTK. It is the speed of the wire, not of the radio link over the air; for the LoRa radio use EU 868 MHz in Base › RTCM Rates.

With Radio on ESP-Now the radio port neither sends nor receives corrections, whatever its speed: see ESP-Now radio › Settings.

GNSS Serial Baud Rate: at start the station sets the module to this value. Leave it as it is: a lower value cannot carry many messages at high rates, and data goes missing in the logs.

Stay on the speeds the station looks for

When the station cannot reach the module over its usual internal link, it looks for it on this serial link only at 9600, 38400, 115200, 230400 and 460800 bit/s. With another GNSS Serial Baud Rate (4800, 19200, 57600, 921600) it may then not find the module.
